What is old is new again.
What an odd several weeks it’s been.
In the last blog, I discussed dealing with the aftermath of the EGORAVEN Volume 2 campaign (you can read that here). The navel-gazing has not only NOT stopped, but it has built up even as I fulfilled the campaign. I could say I’m still doing it even now, but at least it feels like I have some grasp of some solutions I’m already putting into play.
EGORAVEN is returning to Webtoon
Around 2015, I experimented with having EGORAVEN: HEIR OF THE FIRST UNICORN on Webtoon but found formatting a standard comic for phone scrolling daunting, and I wasn't convinced a black-and-white comic would do too well against a sea of color anyway. I ended up taking the series down and hoped that sometime in the future, uploading it to the platform would make more sense to me.
Fast-forward to today. EGORAVEN has seen eleven successful Kickstarters in its new full-color format. After seeing many Webtoon series make the jump to crowdfunding, I figured now was the right time to experiment again, this time with some changes.
Starting on TUESDAY, AUGUST 20, EGORAVEN: HEIR OF THE FIRST UNICORN will start from the beginning on Webtoon with weekly updates featuring four full-color pages per chapter. Each chapter is uploaded AS IS from the comic, so it will not be in the scrolling format. In the end, this is how the comic was meant to be read, and many of the pages don't translate into the scrolling format anyway. Considering how much manga I have been reading on my phone in their original format, I don't see how reading my comic would be any different.
My Patreon is back
Ironically, I had forgotten that Webtoon is an official partner on Patreon. Because of that, I had to rethink another platform I thought I had pretty much abandoned. I think I was with Patreon a little earlier than Webtoon, and even then, I had no idea what I was doing.
The“sister” to my main Patreon page, HAUS OF BOB, was the only of the two with SOME potential and a sense of being what it was supposed to be. But after three years of rather lackluster support, I was busted by the Patreon censors for daring to have adult material on an adult page in a farce of events that forced me to delete the page altogether.
Returning to Webtoon allowed me to tweak my main site and put it back into my social media rotation. I figure if I go back to regularly posting to it, I can build it back up slowly, especially if the EGORAVEN webtoon gains some traction.

HAUS OF BOB launches TOMORROW
And speaking of HAUS OF BOB - my collection of spicy, furry pinups returns to Kickstarter tomorrow, August 19. I’ve had a few false starts with this sketchbook series, but I have finally found a format I’m really happy with. I’m currently waiting for more proofs that I’ll show off in a later update, but for now, we’re starting with the FETISH FANTASY sketchbook and a remaster of MONDO BONDO, the original HoB prototype I released back in 1997! Talk about time being a flat circle!
This campaign will also allow you to pick up original art commissions from me. I will have levels offering both random and customizable options. I don’t usually offer commissions, so if you’ve always wanted to get one, here is your chance!
